Draft for legal review. This page describes how the service works today. Items marked “to be confirmed” need a decision before launch.

Your public profile shows your username and region. Everything else is private unless you choose to share it in a round.
Who we are
Global Golf Club is run by to be confirmed, the data controller. Contact us about privacy at hello@globalgolf.club.
What we hold and why
| Data | Why | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Username and region | So golfers can recognise and find you | Other members |
| Email and password (stored hashed) | Your account, sign-in and, if you turn them on, email updates | Only you and us |
| Playing preferences and stated handicap | To explain why golfers might fit | Other members, on your Passport |
| Checks (phone, handicap, club) | To show exactly which checks you’ve completed | Other members see the result only |
| Mobile number, if you check your phone | To text you a code once. Stored encrypted, and used to stop one number checking several accounts | Only you and us. Never other members |
| Your plans (where, dates, time of day) | To find golfers and groups who fit | Only golfers whose plans match, and only the overlapping dates |
| Requests, round plans, group places and chat | To arrange rounds | Only the golfers involved |
| Blocks and reports | To keep members safe | Only our moderators. Nobody is told who blocked or reported them |
| Notifications and device push details | To tell you about replies and changes | Only you |
| Post-round check-in answers | To improve introductions | Only us. Never the other golfer |
| Usage counts (which steps of the service were used) | To see what works, reported only as totals | Only us, as totals |
We use your data to provide the service you signed up for (contract), and to keep members safe and improve the service (legitimate interests). Email updates and push notifications are only sent if you turn them on (consent), and you can turn them off at any time.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and usage counts are recorded on our servers without cookies.
Who else processes it
- netcup GmbH: hosts the service on servers in the EU (Austria).
- bunny.net: delivers pages securely and quickly through its network.
- Postmark (ActiveCampaign, USA): sends email updates, if you turn them on.
- Migadu (Switzerland): our inbox, if you email us.
- An SMS provider (to be confirmed): sends phone check codes, if you check your phone.
- Apple, Google or Mozilla: deliver push notifications to your device, if you turn them on. They see only the notification text, which never includes places, dates or contact details.
Where data leaves the UK or EU, we rely on the safeguards the law requires (to be confirmed: confirm the transfer mechanism for each provider).
How long we keep it
- Your account, Passport and plans: until you delete your account.
- Notifications and match explanations: 180 days.
- Usage counts: 180 days.
- Closed requests, round plans and chat: 12 months.
- Reports and moderation records: kept after an account is deleted, so a returning member who was reported can be recognised. For that, we keep only a one-way code made from the email address and phone number, not the details themselves (to be confirmed: how long).
Your rights
You can see, correct, download and delete your data. Download everything or delete your account from Your data once signed in. You can also ask us to restrict or stop processing, or object to it, by emailing hello@globalgolf.club. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Global Golf Club is for people aged 18 and over.
